About Palwal City

Palwal city is approx 60 KM away from Delhi at NH-2 (Delhi Mathura National Highway No.2). Its longitude is 76° 59′ E and latitude is 28° 40′ N. Total area of Palwal city is 22.10 Km2.

In Aryan traditions it is named as Apelava that was the part of Pandava’s Indraprastha kingdom. Palwal city previously ruled by Palwasur and later it has got its name from him.

Once Mahatma Gandhi was arrested in at Palwal Railway station and a historical building made in the memory and respect of Mahatma Gandhi.

Previously Palwal District was the part of Faridabad District and before that total area of Palwal as well as Faridabas was the part of Gurgaon District. Nuh Mewat District was also the part of Gurgaon District.
